2006 Ford Focus Door ajar sensor

The door ajar sensor on my rear hatch continues to ring/buzz even those the hatch is closed and latched. The latch was malfunctioning but after spraying it with WD40 it works fine. However, the buzzer and light contiinue to ring. Is there a way to disconnect the sensor in the hatch latch?

You can remove the rear hatch interior panel trim to access the door ajar switch located on the latch. If you was going to go through the trouble of removing all that though I would suggest just replacing the switch.
