2003 Ford Focus misfire

My Focus just yesterday afternoon after leaving work has gave me the check engine light. When I start the vehicle then walk tot he exhaust it breathes like it is choking I changed the spark plugs yesterday when I put it in the computer it said misfire #1 so I changed all plugs but still have the same problem this morning the check light has started to blink and then stays steady then blinks and again and again please help me find the problem so I can get this car running at optimum levels thanks

Check the compression and injector for that cylinder-

I had that same problem last week with my 2003 focus. Ichanged the ignition coil and spark plug wires and now runs great. If you keep running you could ruin you catalytic converter. That is what you smell.
