2003 Ford Focus 4 cyl Automatic 51,000 miles

My 2003 Ford Focus SW (auto) is vibrating at idle to the point that you cannot use the side mirrors they are shaking so bad.

We have had it at Sears for the regular oil change/tire balance - they examined the car and found nothing wrong to cause the vibrations and noise.

We just picked it up from an indepenant mechinic who gave us the same dx; he can find nothing mechanically wrong with the car - from motor mounts to spark plugs, he says the car is in great mechincal shape.

I bought the car with a little of 1K miles on it and keep up on all require maintance. We have replaced/redone brakes and alternator -

The mechanic did say that when you physicall lean against the side of the car, the vibration and noise stop - but he cant say exactly where its coming from.

If you lean against the door, how can that stop a vibration unless the door is loose? Start the engine, open the hood, and see if the engine is shaking. Let me know what you find.
