Suspension problem
2001 Ford Focus 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Manual

My focus developed a nasty creaking suspension noise and a friend greased all joints etc but it didnt cure it .. now i've been told that its prob the wishbone bushes and that I need ro replace the arms not just the bushes (which I found online)..I'm not a mechanic, just a girlie who loves her car so please can you tell me what is best to do to fix my car (please dont say large garage as I cannot afford that)

Thanx for your reply BMR.

I hear the problem all the time while i'm driving & when i'm breaking, its sounds like an old bed spring creaking..also I hear the noise when I am getting in and out of car..its like when you depress/release pressure on the front drivers side front. Yes also when standing still turning steering wheel, but not quite so loud.

A friend tried to change front wishbone bushes today but couldnt get them in as didnt have a tool to do it, apparently needs some sort of 'compression' tool?

I would start with the outer tie rod ends 1ST
and than the lower ball joints
before u do the bushings
pass it on and let them check it for you we do them all the time and its very easy to over look
jack the tire off check if the noise go away
good luck
let me know
