2001 Ford Focus Rear Shocks

How do I replace the shocks on this car? Im unable to get to the top of the shock absorber lock nuts, just cant get access. Does the suspension need to be dropped to do this as Im doing it myself. Thanks

Did you remove the luggage compartment interior trim panel ? Other than that, it's a tight fit.
