2001 Ford Focus flickering dash and headlights

Ive had my ford focus about 2 months about 3 weeks ago I noticed all the inside electrics flickereing this mainly happend when the car was just started. It graduley got worse with the abs and break light coming on then the whole dash would cut out and come back on with all lights although the motor seemed to still run fine. I took the car to a garage they said it was the voltage regulator on the alternater. So I had the alternater replaced and some wires that seemed to have gone crispy. Got the car back it worked fine for about a week when I noticed the flickering start again and now its gradulay getting worse again its also a lot worse when the headlights are on. Im taking the car back to the garage but was wondering if you had anyi ideas
