I need to replace the catalytic converter as well as the catalytic converter pipe and the oil pan. My question is how hard is it to do this myself or have a mechanic friend do it. Ford wants upwards of 1000 just for labor! Is it really that hard?

Its not hard just make sure you got on hand a gas bottle and acessories to it and a hacksaw in case it get stubborn, give your friend a hand a lot faster.
