cooling fan comes on seconds from starting from cold and then intermmitant whilst driving and temperature gauge goes to half position afew hundred yards from setting off. But there are no running problems. Is this a cause for concern? If so, what do you think will cure it - Thanks

Hello,

The radiator cooling fans are designed to turn on when the engine reaches the operating temperature. It also comes on when the AC is on, regardless of the engine temperature.
It will turn on and off as needed depending on the engine temperature or A/C usage.
This is standard operation of the radiator cooling fan.

So, if you are not experiencing any overheating, then odds are it is functioning normally.
