2000 Ford Focus Hum or Whine

Everytime i start my car it has this hum or whine sound coming from the engine. when i press on the gas petal to accelerate i still here this sound. Do you know what could this possiblely be?

Hello,

There are a couple possibilities...

1) belt needing replacement

2) Idler and/or Tensioner Pulley Bearings going bad.

To check the Pulleys just.. with engine off locate the pulley or pulleys. then with a can of spray lube spray the center bolt on ONE of the pulleys then start vehicle. If noise is gone replace that pulley. If noise is still there repeat proccess above on other pulley.
