Air Conditioning problem

i noticed that the compressor clutch will not turn and will not work when its hot. I have no problem with my aircon going to the office in the morning but it will not work in the afternoon going home. Could it be a coil problem if there is enough freon in the system? I noticed also when i got home (aircon not working) and when i wash the car, after a while i turn on the engine and the aircon is working fine (could it possible because the car cools down?)
