On 10/25/08 BMRMRFIXIT gave instructions for replacement of heater core on automatic focus.

Reply did not indicate necessity of removing steering wheel, instr. panel, dash, air bags, etc. etc.

Well it looks like it isn't much different with the exception that you have a manual shifter in the floor instead of a a/t shifter. So here is what it say's.
1)Disable air bags, remove neg. Batt. Cable and remove the stereo and cd player if it has one. If it has A/C discharge it and drain anti freeze. Remove instrument panel.
2)Remove the cap and bolt on each side of the car that is the lower dash support, unclip and detach vent hoses, remove the 3 retaining bolts in the cross beam. Remove the central junction box from the cross beam. Remove the wire harness from the cross beam and remove the cross beam.
3) Remove all the footwell vent hoses and wire harness from heater housing and mounting nuts from inside the car and the ones under the hood and remove the heater box.
More or less you will have the entire dash board out of the car when you are done. All in all it calls for 7.1 hours to do this job. When you are done you will need to have the a/c vacuumed and recharded as well. The other instructions you found have all the pics you will not remove the a/t shifter you will just remove you standard shifter instead and put a rag in the hole to keep dirt and such out. If you need anything more just ask.
