Engine Mechanical problem
2004 Ford Fiesta 50000 miles

My car had its MOT back in December. I have a really easy question: what do they check for during an MOT or, more specifically, do mechanics have to open my bonnet to complete an MOT?

My bonnet won't open anymore, so I can't check my oil and stuff and I am pretty sure it was in full working order before it's MOT.

So, did the mechanic who did my mot break my bonnet release lever?? Did he look under the bonnet to complete a successful MOT???
