1999 Ford Fiesta gas smell

Dears, thank you for this site. I have a 1999 Ford Fiesta CLX 1.4 five doors built in Brazil. When I'm driving it after the engine is on and driven for a few minutes it starts to smell like gas inside the cabin; Tthe smell is stronger in the back seats area. The official service of Ford told me that they didn't find any gas leak, but here in Argentina the mechanics don't want to work a lot to resolve just one problem. Do you know what may be causing this problem to this specific year of Ford Fiesta? any help is greatly appreciated

have the technicians check the gas tank cover gasket/pump and hoses under the rear seat ?
