Hi,

I am trying to remove the CV joint from the axle while the inner part of the axle is still sitting in the gearbox.

Is there a way to remove the CV from the axle without removing the whole axle?

It seems to be held in with a clip of some sort, but I cannot see one! There is about 1mm of play on the shaft with the CV.

Or how do I remove the whole axle if this is the only way?

Thanks!

Hello,

In order to remove just the joint for service, the CV axle needs to be first removed from the vehicle.
There is just not any good way to perform this on the vehicle.

Here is a helpful guide:

I have attached the CV axle removal procedure as well as disassembly and reassembly process below.

Please let me know if you have any questions.
Thank you.
