1990 Ford Festiva Timing chain?

1990 Ford Festiva 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Manual

My son bought this Festiva and was told the fuel pump was out. When looking at it, we found the timing chain pully wore through the cover. My question is, does the Festiva have a timing chain? I can only find timing belts but not timing chains covers. I have found nothing that talks of timing chains for this model of car.
