1993 Ford Fairmont heater fan blows cold air

Heater problem
1993 Ford Fairmont 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

Hi all , my problem is i have just had a second hand engine put into my car & since then my heater doesnt seem to be working , first of all it only blows cold air & only blows air thru the windscreen fan all the other outlets dont seem to be working . Any help would be very much appreciated .

Sounds like a vacuum source problem. There should be a small plastic vacuum line that goes through the firewall to the engine. Be sure it is hooked up to the engine. If not there is no vacuum to run the heater controls, this is why it only works on defrost, that is the default when there is no vacuum present at the control head
