Engine Mechanical problem
1960 Ford Fairlane V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic xxx miles

I have installed a ford 9 inch in my 55 chev PU, and it is leaking out of the front yoke. I am trying to pull it off with a grear puller, but have stopped as it seems very well attached. I was thinking of adding heat. My thoughts were to remove it, clean the splines, black silicone them and reinstall.

Am I on the right track? What should I be doing?

Many thanks

Hi there,

With the nut removed the yoke should just slide off, check that there is no washed cocking on the spline, when off replace the seal and seal the splines as they do tend to leak there.
