How can you tell if a part has been replaced, is there something you should look for? and on the ignition coil, if it is a ford part is there a way to tell if it is ford? I really need a answer to this. thank you.

I'm assuming you're asking about the ignition module, to see if it's a Ford. The module is mounted on the distributor. It's rectangular and it is mounted with 2 screws. It should say Motorcraft on it. Hope this helps you.

I need to know about the ignition coil- will it have motorcraft/ford on it? and how can you tell if it has been changed. I went to a service station and they said they changed it, but they never took the cover off the inside(middle) which is where all the ignition parts are located and ford said the coil and other parts did not appear to be touched and that they were dirty and all the same color. thank you for your answers.

It sounds like the Ford mechanics were pretty much saying it looks like the coil was not replaced. You'd be better off talking with them. They could tell you what manufacturer makes the coil, whether it's Motocraft or not. Like they said, if everything has the same amount of dirt evenly spread on the coil it looks like it probably wasn't changed. It's a good idea to ask to see the old parts when you have work done, tell them to save them when you firt take it in.
