diesel 7.3 engine, hard time starting in cold weather these past years. Plug in over these cold days, but now has trouble even when plugged in or warmer.

I'll have you check a couple of things in sequence. 1st: Check the glow plug relay on top of the engine and see if there is power going through the main lugs when the key is first turned on. If not, replace the relay. If so--2nd: inspect the plug at the valve cover to see if it is corroded or melted. 3rd: remove the valve covers and inspect for damage on the inside of the connector as well. The relay is a starting point for the problem, but it may deeper than that. If all this checks out, post back here and we'll do some more diag.
