I have a 2001 Ford F-350 Diesel pickup and everytime I hit a deep pothole or sometimes when I turn the wheel, there is a thump noise that comes from the front end. I thought a U-Joint or something was worn. My mechanic replaced them but it still does it. Does anyone know what it is, I feel like my axle is going to break off one day?

Hello,

The noise can be from number to different components of the suspension.
The best course of action would be to do a thorough inspection of the suspension components as well as the front drivetrain.
Look for any excessive wear or broken parts. This noise could be due to a worn-out control arm or a damaged busing.

Here is a helpful article that covers the basics:

I have attached diagrams for your reference.

Please let me know of any questions.
Thank you.
