Recently my brake pedal became mushy but would pump up then go mushy again soon after. Being an old school shade tree mechanic I quickly diagnosed the problem as the master cylinder. After carefull installation the system was bled. The brakes did not improve and now there's a warning light on. I then checked all the pads and made sure the calipers were moving freely. A mechanic at the Ford dealer told my wife it's probably the nitrogen cylinder or the brake bomb. Can you give me any direction on this?

[You need a new brake booster. This gives you power brakes and when the seal leaks on the inside, you will get a mushy pedal that you can pump up momentarily then bleeds off. Replace your booster that your master cylinder mounts to and you will have no problem. Larry
