2000 Ford F350 Four Wheel Drive Automatic

I have an Alternator that test fine at the local parts store. But it will not produce a charge on the truck. All the plug on he alternator are tight. Any supestions?

test battery to ensure it can even hold charge, also may have short in the cables.
