On a trip from canada to texas I experienced loss of power under heavy load, towing a 12500 lb travel trailer.
As the weather got warmmer the problem increased. As I drove from San antonio To Mc Allen Texas I had to stop on many occasions and wait three or four minutes and then the truck would ru for five miles or so before losing power again. Gas tank could be empty or full, didn't make any difference. Changes fuel filter in nashville. No change in operation.
Had new Banks exhaust installed prior to trip but had no trouble until pulling trailer

After five days in Ford Garage in McAllen Texas, a fuel pump and spark plug replacemet, no change.
At Hub City Ford in Lafayette Louisians it took only fifteen minutes for the mechanic to check engine with Ford program to determine that thee coils were failing up to nineteen percent of the time, not enough to turn on engine lite or set code. Replaced the three coills and truck runs like new
