I have fluid leaking from a case that is aft of the oil pan whenever I start the truck. I unscrewed the bolts and was able to see that there was a gear in the case but not sure what it was or the type of fluid leaking. The casing does not have a gasket and I recently had the clutch replaced.

Hi there,

You are looking at the starter ring gear and the oil could be either engine oil from the rear main oil seal or gear oil from the front transmission seal.
Both will require the box to be removed. Just have the sump checked as well before doing any other work.
