I have a 1994 F350 crewcab which I have owned since new. The truck has 149,500 miles on it. At times the steering shakes so bad I have to pull over if on the freeway, and slow down to 30 MPH, or make a left or right turn. It also happens on the surface streets. It does it towing or not. Tire pressure is correct, tire ware is even, no missing weights.I have rotated the tires also. I was told ball joints, but they don't seem lose, all steering bolts are tight. Is it the power steering unit? HELP Thanks Craig

How did you check the balljoints? My suggestion: raise the tire off the ground and place a prybar under the tire. Use leverage to move the tire up and down. If the tire moves, look at the upper and the lower balljoint to tell which one it is. With a vibration, it tends to be the lowers although it is more common for the uppers to go bad first. You also may want to see if the drag link has a stabilizer shock on it. If it does, inspect it for being bent or bad.
