1979 Ford F350 lower engine rattle

1979 f350 460 v8 auto 2wd camper special. Has an intermitent twangy rattle pingy sound coming from lower engine area. Sounds similar to a loose heat shield type of noise but much louder and appears to be coming from trans area Noise is most apparent at low speeds or idle. does not change whether in park or gear. noise is effected by rpm. Seems to increase tempo with an increase in rpm, but goes away at higher speeds...?????

Check your flywheel for cracks, remove the inspection cover and have a look.
