I have a 1992 ford f250 it has about117k miles and had a v8. I beleive there is a fuel pressure problem, when you start it, it just cranks and cranks then it starts. Then you can shut it off and it will fire right up. When you give it gas there is a bad miss in it. There are duel tanks with a fuel pump in each tank. When you switch them it does the same thing. I have tried everything and I need some help

Start with the basics and change or check your fuel filter. What engine do you have? If you have the 5.8 fuel injected, you can check your fuel pressure with a fuel pressure gauge. With the engine cold and with it off, attach the gauge to the schrader valve on the fuel rail. Turn the key to run. The fuel pump should come on for 2 seconds, shut off and you should have about 40 psi. Watch the gauge, it should hold steady. Start it and let it idle. It should be about 39-40 psi. Open the throttle, pressure should drop close to 30psi. You can also try cycling the pump. With the engine cold, turn the key to run for 4-5 seconds. Turn it off and repeat 3-4 times. Then start it. If it starts easier that might mean your fuel pump is getting weak. Post back with results.
