2005 Ford F250 ticking noise in engine

the engine(5.4v8) has always had a faint ticking noise in the engine compartment and underneath but now its got louder and sometimes has a flutter type of noise it still run good and still has power and the fuel mileage is the same just can't find the tapping or ticking noise

Have seen those loosen and break the exhaust studs/bolts. Might want to take a look to see if that is the case.Most of the time you can get to them easiest through the wheel wells
