Hi, I have an 05' F-250 w/ 6.0 turbo-diesel v-8. Lately, about twice a week, I will suddenly loose all throttle response. Push the pedal to the floor repeatedly with zero response. Does not stall. Just runs at idle. Usually happens from a stop, but today felt the power go away on the freeway offramp, and idle went real low. Stuck it in Neutral, fethered the pedal and got the idle back. Had to do it again at the stop light. Then it was fine.
There was a post dated 6/9/08 by usmcorpse, with the exact same problem, but it never said what the problem turned out to be.
PLEASE HELP! I cannot afford to put it in the shop! If someone can tell me what's up, I can fix it. Thank you.

Maybe a faulty accelerator position sensor on pedal support bracket.

Thank you for your quick response!
That's the first thing I thought of, but I steered away from that because if I floor the pedal 50 times with no response, turning the ignition on and off shouldn't fix it. Also, according to the manual on AllDataFiy.com, even if all 3 pots on the pedal fail, the engine will run in idle mode. I'm getting low/erratic idle, and hard restarting sometimes also. Failure of 2 of the 3 pots should give an engine light, which I am not getting.

Is there any way to contact user USMCORPSE and see how hw fixed his? He described the exact same problem last year.
