2004 Ford F-250 Fuel Level Sensor A

Hi the fuel gauge reads empty with full tank, check engine light is on, and the code is PO460.
Can you tell me how to trouble shoot this.

P0460 Fuel Level Sensor Circuit

The most likely culprit for this trouble code would be a faulty fuel level unit, located in the fuel tank. Rarely is it the wiring, but it's always best to check out the wiring at the back of cluster as well as near the fuel tank to ensure it is not damaged/short circuited.
