Engine Mechanical problem
2003 Ford F250 V8 Four Wheel Drive Automatic

How do I loosen the belt tensioner on my truck. Trying to replace the alternator. I have located it, but am not sure how to loosen it. I can see that there are two ends to it. one a 1/2 inch socket will fit into. am I even working with the right end of the tensioner?
