I have the 7.3 diesel a was going down the freeway 70+ with the cruise control on when the push rod broke/bent why did this happen any ideas

Could be, if you've have a tune up lately, someone overtightened the rockers. Or, (not knowing how many) it got loose. Did it cause any damage?
