Im having trouble with the fuel system.F250 6.8L truck sometimes starts sometimes doesnt, I replaced the fuel filter and had no problems for a few days. started doing it again a simple tap of the fuel filter and the truck would start right up. I replaced the fuel filter one more time and now the truck just cranks but does not turn over. the couple of times that it did turn over, it was just for a few seconds and really rough. Can you guide me in the right direction?

Hi there!

You did not say anything about your check/service engine light being on. - if it is, DEFINITELY have the codes read before you do anything else. That way you have a good starting point to diagnose the problem....

If the light isn't on:
I would start first by verifying that it is a fuel supply problem and not spark timing/delivery. You can purchase an inexpensive tool at the parts store that goes into the end of your spark plug wires and clamps to a ground. We are looking for a bright blue spark. If it is present, I would next check fuel pressure. A service manual, like Haynes or Chiltons, will give you pressure specs and how to test. If pressure is too low, you are likely looking at a fuel pump or pressure regulator issue.
Reply back if you find codes and we can go from there....

Thanks!

Hi there,

Just to add to what kerenself has posted, even if the check light is not showing, do a scan as not all set fault codes will activate the check light.
