1999 Ford F250 dome lite

dome lite in my 99 f250 was staying on . spraying the latch did not work wd40. replaced the switch\ latch. now the lite stays on when door is closed, open the door the lite goes out in 15 to 20 secs. like it working backwards???.

Either it's installed backwards, or the connector is reversed, or you put the switch for the other side in it!
