Hi got a problem.
ive a ford truck F250HD over 8500gvwr and 5.8 gas engine. Full floating axle 10.25. Big HUB.8 lug.
how can I remove my heavy duty rear brak drums?
got infos, that I must pull the rear axle shaft.
but dont know the steps to do that coz I guess I must replace the seals. Inner oil seals and so, too: found infos, that I need a puller and step plate adapter, also a sockes with 4 splines. But I dont have any glue why its so difficult with a heavy duty truck. My handbook tells me how it works with a semi floating axle, but no heavy duty. Can you help me to find the right way and tools and seals and step by step how I can be succsessfully?
thx a bunch steve

Ok it is not quite as hard as you are reading. You need to remove the 6 bolts that hold the axle to the hub and pull the axle. Then you will need a socket to remove the hub nuts so you can remove the drum. Here is a pic.
