I have a 97 ford f250. The battery light is on and sometimes flashes. The gauge reads 14 volts. A test on the battery shows ok 12.5 volts. Alt shows 14.5 volts when running. Seems to run great. But would like the light off. Thx

First thing to check would be the drive belt. Make sure that it is tensioned properly and not slipping. Next, check the alternator output.

Seems like you're just getting a false reading then. Check fuses # 2 and # 29 in the fuse junction panel.
