Just bought a 96 f250. It wont start. Previous owner said he was backing the truck out of his driveway and it stalled. He thought he ran it out of gas. He put gas in it and still no luck.
since I have had it I tried bleeding the fuel line, adding gas to rear tank, and new fuel filter.
when I turn the key on I can hear the fuel pump/s turn on, the truck will crank, and occationally sputter but wont start. There is optimum fuel pressure in the rails, which is making me think that my problem is somewhere in the engine compartment? Something electrical maybe? Previous owner said the rotor and wires are new in the engine, but could they possibly be installed incorrectly? What are my other options to fix this problem? Thanks, Matt

Hi mckaefer04. Welcome to the forum. You know spark plug wires are not the problem. They didn't magically jump out and change position while he was backing up. Have you checked for spark? If it is missing, suspect a defective crankshaft position sensor as a place to start.
