1996 Ford F250 feul problems

hello,
I own a 96 f250 my problem is when i use the rear tank the front tank fills but the truck runs fine when i run on the front tank the rear tank fills but the truck runs like crap what is my problem?????

Ford had a problem with this and they used check valves on the feed lines to stop it.They are silver and are on top of the tank on the fuel ine. If there arent any check valves, you have to replace the fuel pumps with the up-dated version. If the valves are there, I have seen them get stuck open and have had success removing the debris
