1982 Ford F250 CHANGING THERMOSTAT

I was wondering if I changed my thermostat correctly. I put the spring side down towards the engine. Is that correct?

thats the way it goes. if ever in doubt check the flow arrows located on the thermostat, flows from bottom hose to top hose.

That is correct spring to engine.
