Engine Mechanical problem
1969 Ford F250 V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic xxxx miles

Ok, so here's the deal. My truck (1969 Ford F-250 3.9L) needed a new water pump. Unfortunately, in the process of removing and installing the new one a piece of press fit piping broke and while trying to remove the extra, is now completely broken. So I have a piece of tubing that was at one point press-fit into the engine-block that should attach via rubber tubing to the water pump. It is now broken. What should I do? Should I heat the block and hope that the piece will simply fall-out, or should I try to drill? I've sort of half-assed both attempts, the heat with a propane torch and the drill with a drill bit that is too small really, but here are my concerns. One, that while drilling I over-bore the hole and can't get whatever piece back in there (which, in-turn raises the question of how I should go about getting a new piece and what to do about securing it) and Two, heating the block and not damaging other components. I'm really in a bind here and any help at all would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Hi Rincon805
O.K. Go with drilling out broken piece. Get bits that you graduate size up to the size of hole in block. You will know when you start drilling out block it is cast and you will start getting shinny shavings in bit.
Stop when you have smooth round surface. Next measure dia. Of hole need vernier caliper. I think 1/2 inch copper tubing will work. Measure O.D. Of tubing and if necessay dill out to fit leaving block a coulpe thousandts smaller. Get some JB Weld apply drive copper tube in let set up. Cut to correcy length.
Good luck let me whats going on.
Thanks for donation
Will be on line most of tomorrow.
