Won't start with key & key won't return when released

I have a1999 F150, 5.0, automatic, with power stearing & power brakes. When I turn the to start it, nothing happens and when I release the key, it just stays there and I have to turn it back to the run position. I have to start it from the relay under the hood. How can I correct this problem.

Hello !

Looks to me like you have a faulty ignition switch.

(could be a bad or broken contact inside)

check it and replace it if necessary.
