Yes, I re-eyeballed it, all bolts removed. After borrowing a oxy-acetylene rig I was able to cut away enough of the water pump and offending bolt and perform a successful, but complicated, extraction of the pump.

The offending bolt protrudes from the timing cover housing approximately 1 1/2 inches. The space between the diameter of the bolt and the circumference of the hole is about .080 and is packed with rust.
Presently, I'm chipping away at the rust a with 1/16" welding rod and pentatrating oil, thru the timing cover housing, with the intent of providing a galley for the pentratranting oil to reach the block and the offending bolt theards.
With a set of vise-gripes on the offending bolt, torsion is apparent in both directionns but with no give on the the bolt.
As I'm doggedly chipping away, the weather is 100% humidiity, 36 degress [F], and I'm thinking that there has to be a more effective pentranting oil than what I'm using!
Open for opinions.
Jack,
