2001 F150, 4.6 V-8, 95K MILES, I AM CHANGING THE FILTER IN THE TRANSMISSION AND WHEN I DROPPED THE PAN AND FILTER THERE WAS A SMALL PLASTIC PART IN THE PAN. IT KIND OF LOOKS LIKE A GOLF TEE OR MUSHROOM, IT HAS A STEM ABOOUT 1" LONG AND ABOUT 1/8 INCH DIAMATER, THE HEAD IS ABOUT 1/2" DIAMTER WITH AN ORING ON IT. THE HEAD IS KIND OF LIKE A MUSHROOM. WHERE DOES THIS GO, I CAN'T SEEM TO SEE ANYTHING THAT LOOKS LIKE A PLACE FOR IT

THANKS, I MADE A DONATION BUT I AM NOT SURE HOW TO SHOW YOU THAT HERE

You have donated. It says it right above your post.

Some of the other guys here probably know for sure, but I believe that is the dipstick tube plug. When the truck is assembled, they don't bother to take it out before they push the dipstick tube in. The plug just falls into the pan, and no harm done.
