I tried to get my truck a required emissions test to renew my sticker and the check engine light was on so they could not perform the emissions test until the problem was fixed. I took it in to have them run the codes and this is what they came up with:

Test drive revealed MIL Light trans slow to up shift
998- Undefined
122 TP Sensor Voltage Low
542 Fuel Pum secondary circuit failure
Inspected TP switch wiring- ok swept on scan tool shows drop out

This is only my secondary vehicle and I do not want to spend an arm and a leg repairing it.
What would you guys recommend having done to get the check engine light to go off and for it to pass emissions test so that I can quit driving with expired tags.

From checking a few manuals, the codes state as follows:
998: Hard Fault Present, PCM in back-up (FMEM) mode
122: Sensor signal below minimum ( possible short)
542: Fuel pump secondary circuit failure, PCM to ground

As I look at this, 2 of these are talking about the PCM and the other one is saying a possible short.
I would probably start with trying to find a short on the TP Sensor wiring harness. Also see if you can find a ground wire that is not properly tightened. Both of these could possibly be done by yourself, and wouldn't cost anything to do. Wiring can be a pain to track down problems, so be prepared for a headache. Did somone check the TP Sensor itself? I don't know how much help this all is, but it is what I am seeing in my manuals with the codes you posted. I hope you get it figured out. Good Luck
