I have 1997 f-150 . My fuel filter started to leak. Iremoved it but found one of the "O" rings on the up stream side was split. Can i simply cut the fuel line and install some rubber gas piping. This would make it much easier to change in the future. :?:

No. Fuel injection runs some pretty high pressure.

They can be difficult to remove on a good day. Throw some undercoating in and a long time between changes and they are a PITA. I clean the connection first with carb cleaner. Then shoot some WD40 into it and give it at least 5 minutes to soak in. It still can be tight.

Safety first. Then get the fire extinguisher. :)
