2009 Ford F150 waher controls

I question why at the end of the washer cycle there is a delay and 1 annoying last swipe of the blade? Typical operation is spray, 3 wipes, delay of 5-8 sec and a last swipe on a dry windshield!

That is how they work. I think it's to hit any last spots that may have run after the wipers shut off.
