2006 Fx4. When decelerating and with the foot firmly on the brake ( in 4 wheel drive) vehicle is almost at a stop when the RPM's climb to 3500 and the vehicle tries to take off with the foot on the brake. Have to slam the transmission into neutral and it over revs for a few more seconds then goes back down to idle. This occurred two times within a 5 minute span then didn't occur for a week. Then it did it 3 times within a 10 minute span. I took it to my local service dealer and they test drove it several times it would not duplicate the problem. It did not show any codes on diagnostics. They have returned the vehicle to me and told me to come back if it does it again. I can't let my wife drive it now. If it happens when she is driving she will slam into something if this occurs.

Any ideas???? Thanks.

The 06 F150's had an electronic throttle control. I'm suprised they didn't find an issue with it. I worked at a Ford dealership for years and we were replacing them quite a bit--ussually for NO trottle response. But it still could be the answer to your problems.
