recently I had my oil changed and the tech. told me my trans. was down 1 qt. and that the fluid traveled into my front transfer case. Is rthis possible? If this is possible what kind of damage could occur to my trans. and how hard of a job is it to change the front axle seal?

IT's the same fluid.

I'm not following the logic by the oil changer... Changing the axle seal difficulty depends on several factors. IF things come apart easy or is a torch needed. IF you have a lift. If you have the tools. etc. Not A job I would do in the driveway myself. Damage can most certainly be done by running low on fluid.
