2005 Ford F150 4 Wheel Drive

My 4 wheel drive on my truck will not engage. We have a switch on the dash that we are just suppose to be able to flip to get it to come on. I'm wondering why this could be, we've only had to use 4 wheel drive a few times since we bought the truck in 2005.

Look at the knuckles on front and see if the vacuum lines are OK..if they break, 4X4 won't work!
