Engine Mechanical problem
2004 Ford F150 V8 Four Wheel Drive Automatic

Vin 5 engine-3ov- 5.4 liter
The code indicates that cam sensor A on cam 2 is defective.
Which side is cam 2 and is the cam sensor ithat comes up thru the valve cover sensor A?
The timing cover for the right side is out farther than the left if this helps

updated 1/4/10
Replacing the cam sensor did not fix the problem. Need to know wiring test procedure and wiring pin numbers and sensor wire location in the plug that goes into the computer.
Thanks

Sensor 2 is on the drivers side bank and is on the front of the head.

It was PO345 code. Finally took truck to Ford service today. Tech said it sounded like the wrong timing. The 5.4 L has 2 different motors that look the same he said. Only difference is the timing. Orginal engine I replaced with a salvage yard one. Anyway will know for sure soon.

Thanks for all your help.

This turned out to be the cam spocket on the right head. The spring was stuck. Replacement of spocket
repaired the problem. Thanks for all your help
